What’s the weather forecast like?
Unfortunately, we have some unfavorable news on that front. The “unseasonal weather” is expected to persist throughout the weekend, so it’s advisable to pack your wellies and rain jackets.
Friday morning looks to be the most promising part of the weekend, with sunny spells and only a few showers. However, the weather will take a turn for the worse in the afternoon as clouds thicken, and rain spreads from the west, eventually covering all areas by the evening. Temperatures are predicted to range between 16-19 degrees.
According to Met Éireann meteorologist Aoife Kealy, Saturday will see some highly unusual weather. It will start off wet and windy, with rain in Munster gradually clearing eastwards, making way for sunny spells and scattered showers. During the morning, there might be strong northwest winds, potentially reaching damaging gusts in the south for a while, but they should ease as the afternoon progresses. Maximum temperatures will reach 16-18 degrees.
On Sunday, expect a mix of sunshine and showers, with temperatures ranging from 16-20 degrees. Sunday night should be mostly dry, but there’s a forecast for a thickening cloud in Munster, leading to patchy rain and drizzle developing towards dawn.
